For many, many years, industrial and tech copywriting has paid the bills. This is anything from writing the contents of an email marketing blast, to doing technical white papers for large corporations. Kinda done it all.
While I’ve significantly scaled back my copywriting work in recent years, I do still take on the occasional project. If your business or marketing department needs the help of an experienced writer who knows how to sell technology and know-how, drop me a line or go take a look at my other website, www.loadcreative.com.
Load Bearing Creative (2010-present). This is a collection of writing samples from copywriting work I’ve done in Decade Two, primarily under the banner of Load Bearing Creative. I have since resumed a more writing-centric freelance life, so the LBC-related business details are a bit out of date. But this portfolio covers a lot of my work for large technology corporations, including Intel and VMware.
Robert Warren, Writer and Editor (2003-2010). Prior to the LBC Era, I was writing for smaller businesses under my own name. I wrote copy for flavored vodka, despite having never actually tasted the stuff. I wrote for late-to-the-party, doomed dot coms. Back in these days, you never knew what highly weird adventure was going to be on the other end of the phone that day. I don’t miss it, but sometimes I miss it – know what I mean?

And, deep in the musty catacombs of my files, guarded by a grouchy Lovecraftian beast from the outer dimensions, I still have my original portfolio from the summer of ’04. It was truly hideous, and since I didn’t have many clients at the time, highly fictional. And so here is that terrible, accursed thing, posted here for your entertainment as well as to usher forth the era of our lord Cthulhu’s darkness.
If you’re reading this, Jen, thanks. Your designs saved my life, career, and sanity, back when I thought MS Publisher was all I needed.
